WELCOME TO MY HOMEPAGE My name
is Marvin, also known as MGDriver in some forums. I am 16 years old and I live in Paderborn in the east of Northrhine-Westphalia which is close to the geographic center of Germany
This site is about my hobby, the
collecting of vehicle registration plates, also known just as license plates. I have been collecting license plates for one year and a half now and my collection currently contents about 150-160 plates, which is not very
much. Professional Collectors have got more than 1000 plates, so my collection can be considered as small. I have specialized on collecting license plates from North America, in my opinion those are the best looking license
plates. Recently I have started to collect license plates from all over the world, I take what I can get now.
I have divided my collection according to some parts of the world: North America, Central America, Europe, Australia (The African, Asian and South American collections are still empty) The United States of America make up an exception on my site, I have created an extra page for my USA collection, because otherwise it would break the limits of the North America page. To jump to the collection pages you can either use the green navigation bar on the left or you can click on the specific names above, which are marked in yellow color. Hope you like the homepage and... ...have fun browsing!

This is my display for some of my USA license plates, a huge silhouette of the USA. It has a size of 3,20 x 2,20 meters and it is painted on a
wall in my room. I also included the biggest mountain ranges and seas on the map, as you can see, those are painted in another color. LASTEST WALL
PHOTO UPDATE ON 25/08/10 Below you can see another photo of the map. It was taken in the dark, with the camera flash switched on. The reflection
of all these plates looks pretty nice. You can still see some plates which do not reflect, those are older plates, which need to be replaced by newer ones.

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
People are always asking me “How do you get to the collecting of license plates?” Well, I was searching for a nice collecting hobby
and I finally liked the idea of collecting of license plate. There are so much different license plates around and every country issues them. This hobby is endless. Every license plate is unique because in most cases there can
only be 2 license plates of the exactly same type (Matching registration number and location) for the front and rear of a vehicle. Some jurisdiction on earth, mostly in North America, just issue one license plate for the rear of a vehicle, a front plate is
not required. Now this is the story how I got to the collecting of license plates. Since I was a little kid I always have been collecting something. First I collected toy cars from the German brand called SIKU. Then I
switched to collect real die-cast cars from exclusive brands like AUTOart and Franklin Mint, but I soon had to realize that this hobby would be way too expensive for me, so I ended it after 10 exclusive die-casts. After some
time without a real hobby, I found a California license plate for sale at a local flea market and because I am a big fan of American built vehicles and America in general, I bought it. (You can still see my very first license plate displayed in the USA section of
this page. It’s a California license plate with the registration number 3MPU756) I have really fallen in love with this license plate, so I
thought it would be a good idea to collect those, as they look very nice and they are pretty cheap. After a few month of searching through local flea markets I had just 5 plates, so I was looking for a faster method of
collecting. As buying license plates from the internet would be expensive again, I had to find another method. Then I realized that I am a member in an American internet forum (That forum is www.crownvic.net, it is about a very popular car in America, the Ford Crown Victoria. I am a very big fan of this vehicle, that is why I am a member there) I asked a few members there if they were able to get me license plates from America and this was how this whole thing started. Most of the license plates you can see on this page were sent to me by members of the Crownvic.net forum. (In trade for a German license plate. That worked out pretty good) A big
THANK YOU to all guys who sent me their license plates, it was a real pleasure to trade with you!.
If you also would like to trade license plates with me, please check out Plate Trade to see how it works.
